Tuition and Ghillie Services

Our resident head keeper is Jon Hall.  He is an expert fisherman for both salmon and trout, and is an experienced ghillie. He is a keen conservationist and knows a great deal about the wildlife around the river and has the patience to tie his own flies. He is there to help answer any questions about the river and to give advice and guidance on fishing.

In addition to our head keeper, we have a number of other ghillies who we can call upon. They are all extremely accomplished fishermen in their own rights and can be described as a collection of 'characters' from all walks of life with a common love of the countryside.

Ghillies are able to advise on the most suitable tackle, the best flies to use, and they all know our stretch of the river well and can advise on the 'hot spots'.

Our head keeper can provide casting tuition to novice fishermen on a one to one basis, or to small parties.

For day rods a ghillie may be booked to spend either a few hours, half a day, or the whole day with you and your party. We would usually recommend no more than 3 fishermen to one ghillie. If you are new to river fishing you may decide to book a ghillie to provide a one to one service.
