The 2007 Salmon Season:

The 2007 catch of 107 fish is very encouraging and the best catch since 2001.  The largest fish caught was 13lbs and a decent number of MSW fish were seen amongst the grilse.

The river conditions were perfect for the salmon and the heavy rainfall in June & July brought in large numbers of fish - many of which ran straight through our stretch which although would have made our catch record even higher had they taken their time to travel up stream, bodes well for this year's spawning and therefore future runs.  This, coupled with the fantastic smolt run this year and the cessation of the Irish Drift nets we hope marks the turning point for salmon runs in the future.

New for 2008 - the COMBO Rod

A combination of Trout and Salmon fishing on a fortnightly basis on a named day of the week.

The Combo Rod gives a total of: 6 days trout fishing - with 2 guest tickets and 6 days salmon fishing - with 6 guest tickets.

Starting in April you alternate between a days Salmon fishing for 2 people on a salmon beat with your next visit being a days Trout fishing on the trout water.
